Many of the trails are recognisable to most hikers today. Amazing to see people using them to transport goods to markets on foot back then.

Sadly many of the tranquil, tight knit villages, the rice terraces, the free roaming cattle are gone but we still have a limited herd of buffalo and cows roaming the island. Such gentle creatures. And if you get here early enough in the morning you’ll still see a few village farmers carrying vegetables and fruit from their gardens to market.

Beautiful Lantau.
